The director of "Game of Thrones" stated that "the last episode was made in a hurry"

Director Neil Marshall admitted that the finale of Season 8 of "Game of Thrones" was "definitely done in a hurry." The creator criticized some of the decisions of David Benioff and DB Weiss.

The ending of "Game of Thrones" was welcomed by fans with little enthusiasm. You can even say that it caused controversy. Millions of fans spoke about the finals, and actors and people working on the series responded to critical reviews. One such person is Neil Marshall, who directed several episodes of previous seasons of "Game of Thrones".

Game of Thrones - the last episode was "made in a hurry"
The director commented in an interview with Metro.co.uk, where he admitted that arguing with David Benioff and DB Weiss was simply impossible:

It was really hard to blame these gentlemen because they are geniuses and they did a really impressive job. I would approach the directing otherwise. One of the best things about these episodes that I shot was that I had a lot to do with what it looked like.

Especially in battle scenes. I would add a lot of strategy and knowledge on this subject.

Then Marshall admitted that he agreed with the opinions of people who accuse the creators of too fast and hasty ending of some threads:

In some ways, I agree with the criticism that the last season was done in a hurry. Everyone supposedly ended where they were supposed to finish, but I think they played it too quickly.

"Game of Thrones" came to an end on May 2019 with the broadcast of the final episode of "Iron Throne".

A few weeks after the premiere there was a petition to re-shoot the last season, which was signed by over a million fans. Among the actors who were nervous about such a reception was, among others Alfie Allen, who played Theon Greyjoy. Pictures for the first spin-off of the series have already started.
