After sitting in Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, Portman is ready to return to the Thor franchise in the second release of Taika Waititi. His big comeback was announced this summer at Comic-Con in San Diego, along with the added feature that will play the female version of Thor of Jane.

This part of Love and Thunder was inspired by a comic book in 2014. Written by Jason Aaron, Jane's story came when he became gracious enough to raise Mjolnir when Thor himself became worthless, assuming the role of the Goddess of Thunder.

However, Jane also developed breast cancer at the time, and every time she took Mjolnir and used her new strength, her chemotherapy treatments became less effective. Aaron's story has been acclaimed by critics and fans happy to see it adapted to the big screen.
